Nicole Fabri

Nicole has been a broker of energy and environmental commodities for over 20 years. She took part in the early REC market on Wall Street before founding Clear Energy in 2006. Clear Energy brokers and consults in the markets for a wide variety of environmental credits, spanning the electricity and refining industries. Nicole has been an active participant in the market as a liquidity provider and as a market expert and public speaker.

Nicole has an intimate familiarity with the complexity of regulation-based environmental markets and provides depth of insight and expertise into the highly un-standardized contracts required by the current marketplace. Nicole has a Masters degree from Columbia University in International Affairs with a concentration in environmental policy and economics.

Ryan Cook

Ryan Cook, Vice President of Clear Energy has been with the firm since 2007 working in the voluntary and compliance REC markets with a focus on MISO, PJM and NEPOOL. During his tenure Ryan has been active in all domestic compliance and REC markets. In addition, Ryan works with clients on physical plant acquisition and disposition, originating long term power purchase agreements and serving as REC portfolio manager. Recently, Ryan has helped expand the company’s knowledge base for clients, training new personnel and adding additional environmental related services and commodities to serve clients.

Prior to joining CEBC, Ryan worked for a private equity firm where he held several positions on the deal team consulting on operational issues and management positions within portfolio companies. Ryan completed his graduate work with an MBA in Finance from Indiana University and a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration from Hope College. He currently resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he is an active volunteer in the community, serving on several boards and committees. When not at his desk, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and downhill skiing.

Scott Spettel

Scott Spettel joined the Clear Energy team in 2009 as an energy broker and contract consultant. Scott has nearly thirty years of experience in the power industry, specializing in resource project acquisition and wholesale power trading. He was involved in power origination and planning for Eugene Water & Electric Board in a variety of capacities from 1983 to 2008. Scott now consults on a wide range of issues related to power contract negotiation and mediation, with a specialization in BPA and FERC issues.

Based in the Pacific Northwest, Scott has expertise in sourcing, contracting for, and negotiating power contracts. He brings to the table an in-depth understanding of the balances inherent among environmental, regulatory and power systems operations associated with renewable energy projects.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado and his Master of Arts degree in Economics at the University of North Carolina.

Michael Rizzo

Michael J. Rizzo joined Clear Energy in 2016. He comes from the complex world of Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS) with 24 years of inter dealer brokerage experience. He will be bringing that experience to the NEPOOL REC market.

Prior to joining Clear Energy, Michael was involved in all aspects of the MBS market. He started his career as a broker at RMJ Securities where he quickly established himself in the Non Agency MBS sector. Within a few years he was promoted to desk-head. Michael continued his career at Clarkeson Research Group where he expanded his product base to include ALT A and subprime MBS along with single name Credit Default Swaps (CDS). After the 2008 housing crisis, he began the Specified Pool desk and the Home Equity Conversion desk. Michael brings to the team extensive experience building relationships and brokering complex securities.

Michael graduated from Niagara University with a major in Marketing. He has two children, a daughter Caroline, and a son Michael Jr. Growing up on Long Island, and now residing in Florida, he loves the beach. When he isn’t at the beach, you can find him playing golf or following the NY Mets or NY Islanders.

Christine Grandstaff

Christine Grandstaff, brings her extensive experience in the California Emissions Markets covering Emission Reduction Credits, RECLAIM Trading Credits, Carbon credits (CRTs, CCAs, CCOs, VER), Mobile Source Credits, and Waste Water Offsets.

Located in California, Christine has over 25 years of experience in the energy and environmental commodities markets. She and her team work with both domestic and international clients helping them navigate the various environmental regulations and requirements for the 35 different air districts in California.

Christine and her husband have four adult children and enjoy living in Southern California where she excels at competitive lawn mower racing.

Mike Callahan

Michael Callahan joined Clear Energy Brokerage in September 2024 as a broker focusing on WECC compliance REC markets, national voluntary REC markets, and Midwest capacity markets in MISO and PJM.

Prior to Clean Energy Brokerage, Michael spent 7 years as a logistics broker for one of the top firms in the country. There he would consult with senior-level stakeholders on carrier procurement and make recommendations on how to reach carbon-neutral goals. In addition, Michael held a key role on their sustainability team. He worked to reduce network CO2 emissions by 18% through route optimization, co-loading freight, and network rationalization.

Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in finance at Portland State University and has a graduate certificate in Corporate Sustainability from Cornell University. When Michael is not working he loves to ski, run, and watch the NFL or NBA.
